Want to help young refugee students improve their speaking, listening and communication skills in
English? Can you commit to meeting once per week, online? If so, this volunteer opportunity could be
right for you.
For several years CEPAL has partnered with the Unite Lebanon Youth Project (ULYP)
in matching conversation coaches in Canada with small cohorts of Palestinian high school students in
different regions of Lebanon. The main program runs during the regular School Term. In summers, the
program also helps students entering university preparatory programs at United World Colleges.
If you’re interested and would like to learn more, please reach John at john@cepal.ca, along with a short
bio or mention of related experience. ESL teachers are of course especially welcomed, but prior formal
experience isn’t essential, and a bank of resources is available to assist in lesson planning.
